Seborrhoeic keratosis is a common, harmless skin growth that often appears as a slightly raised, waxy or “stuck-on” patch. They can vary in colour from light tan to dark brown and are most often found on the face, chest, back or shoulders.
These growths usually develop slowly with age and are not caused by sun damage or infection. While they’re harmless, some people choose to have them removed for cosmetic reasons or if they become irritated by clothing or jewelry.
Treatment with advanced electrolysis removes the growth by gently cauterising the tissue. A scab will form and naturally fall away over 7–14 days, leaving the skin smoother and clearer.
